Start of a new embroidery project ^_^

Goofing around one day with the girls I sketched this cute little Koi fishy ~ thought he was cute enough to bring to life with yarn.  So right now I am doing a test on how the variegated yarn looks.  If we like it then I will transfer it on to panels for our new living room curtains.  

I have also started a little Shrug for myself since the Munchkins finally have their own.  The yarn was a steal  found a pound of worsted weight yarn for 70 cents!!!!  The color is a plum color and well I needed something other than blue or black in my wardrobe anyway.  Photos to come, promise.

Summer Reading

The Munchkins have ONE week left of school so we are gearing up for our summer reading lists.

Squirt and Peanut will be reading the Sisters Grimm series this summer ~ we will see how many books they get through before school restarts.

Pumpkin and I will be doing a lot of Dr. Seuss {I LOVE Dr. Seuss}.  We have also signed her up for the summer story time at the local library and she is Uber excited to be attending.

Personally I have a varied list of books that are currently in my reading basket from the library that I am trying to get to before I have to return them.  None have stood out that I would sing its praises on the hilltop, but when I do I will be sure to rave about it.

P90X2 / Insanity hybrid workout

If something is important to you you will find a way.

If it isn't you will find an excuse.

This is soooo true!

Today Hubby and I are going to start a P90X2 / Insanity hybrid workout.  We have finished both programs and this weekend we were in the what now phase when we found a mash up of these two.  I am so happy that I am actually doing or trying to do chin ups and pull up on the crazy bar hanging in the door way.  Looking forward to this new routine and I will have to remember to get Before photos and measurements which is something that I have not done before.

Hunger Games tribute... Dutch Braid

Katniss has started a craze with her braid and here is my little attempt with the dutch braid.

Hubby has voiced his wishes that I cut my hair.... extremely short but I think that I am inclined to leave it medium length just so I can have this cute little braid over the summer.   What do you think?

Getting ready to pick up ALL the Munchkin's from school to start our Spring break.  I use that term loosely considering it is gray, windy, and about 40ish degrees outside.   Which warrants a quick lunch out with my little Ladies then off to get lost in stacks at the library.

Stopped The Night Circus since Hubby bought me a copy of my very own once he found out how in love with the story I am.  Right now I'm impatiently waiting for Mr. Brown to deliver our package so I can once again visit the circus ^_^

Keeping busy....

Trying to finish off my reading stole this week with a very simple pattern 

{ row one K; row two K1, *P1 K1 to the end and keep repeating these two rows to achieve the length that you like} 

I do believe that I have managed to mess this pattern up { follow above pattern at your own peril ^_^} The bottom and top edges are different and the front and back are not the same.  No matter, I like how it is turning out and too far into it to fix it ~ sometimes little mistakes can make for a pleasant surprise.

Started reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and I am enchanted from the get go!  I am not even a quarter of the way through but I have decided that this book will definitely be added to my little library ^_^

I am back

It is nice to be back after weeks  of abx, mountains of tissues, endless kettles of hot tea, gallons of soup and our favorite blanket and books.  

It is heartwarming to be back to reading positive and encouraging posts from the lovely bloggers that I follow after a trying week with family.

I am sorry I do not have any lovely photos, they are trapped in my camera in digital purgatory but I am working on a few things that I am dying to share with you.

Funniest Commercial Evah!!!!

Yesterday was Super Bowl and the best commercial hands down according to 私を is this one!  I laugh EVERY time I see it and now when I hear that song ~ all I see is a dancing Red M&M ^_^

Cooking Adventure : Yeasted Waffles

Hubby surprised me with a waffle maker  ~ is it sad when I get excited about getting a waffle iron out of the blue?!?!  

 This gift also fueled my obsession with food porn so off to Foodgawker to find a recipe for us to try.  One day I too , will have drool worthy photographs of my food until then I have the snapshots of food made while three hungry little girls stare at you with eyes screaming " Enough photos already Mommy!  I am hungry can I please have my plate?!?!!?

I finally decided to try the Yeasted waffle recipe and well I had a few hiccups with this.  Lesson learned when it calls for a big bowl it means a BIG bowl or else....

 Positive of this little batter explosion.... the go ahead to get some more bowls for my baking / cooking obsession ^_^

I went to bed after I cleaned up the mess with my fingers crossed the the batter will work its magic overnight and I will be able to surprise the Munchkins with light airy waffles.

Look at this lovely waffle!  I know it is not a perfect complete golden brown waffle ~but they come out so pretty and lacy that the girls love to see what shapes they can find

 ^_^

It will also serve as a great foundation for ham and eggs and Hubby will not feel guilty for eating another waffle since they are not heavy.
