I am an AVID reader and I love all genre of books. The question around Christmas was "would you like a {insert e book device}?" My reply was an firm "NO, Thank You" :) Of course the next question was "WHY?!?"
Reason 1~ I love the feel and smell of books opposed the the sterile technical devices. I know very low tech of me.
Every little girl has a FAVORITE fairy tale and Pumpkin's was always Rapunzel. I would have to read her the story over and over since she was a little baby. The other day she requested the song from the movie Tangled and it is starting to haunt me in my sleep. Several mornings I have woken up humming this song only to find her humming it too :)
Valentines Day is not a big holiday around my house ~ Hubby seems to think it is a "silly" holiday. He is NOT a romantic fella ~ he could have worse things going against him ;) So to show him I love him and not get mushy I am going to sneak this into his lunch for a little Valentine surprise ;p
Great right!?! but wait it gets better...
Think he will laugh? I know that I did ;)

In my never ending search for yummy and somewhat healthy treats for the girls snacks I came upon this treat on Taste Spotting. There was a modification made due to allergies and a little hiccup with making the "bites"
See.... I followed the directions and had wet hands and everything but they just stuck to me and came out looking unappetizing.
So plan B! They remind me of Rice Krispie treats so why not smash them into a little box and see what happens?!?!
Ta Da! Little squares instead of bites ;) The girls love them and Hubby stated that they sorta of remind him of his protein bars. I am not sure to take that as a compliment or not ~ he does like those bars though ;)
In a small pot add the honey, peanut butter, and butter and heat until the butters are just melting together. Stir until everything is completely melted and mixed together. In a large bowl mix together the cereal and oats. Add the melted butters to the bowl and mix to thoroughly coat all the dry ingredients. Allow the mixture to cool until it is almost room temperature. Place into pan and let it set in the fridge.
Give these a go and be sure to check the original for what they are "supposed" to look like ;)
My Little Sister is living in Hawaii and has introduced us to Kalohe Kai. This is the girls favorite song right now :) Hope you enjoy and it brings some warmth to us all here stateside :)
You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.
-- Henry David Thoreau
Children have neither a past nor a future. Thus they enjoy the present -- which seldom happens to us.

We have been inside since Tuesday due to the crazy weather in Dallas but we still had time to find happiness...
in watching the girls create and get uber messy with paint
the joy in their faces as they try to wrap gyoza for the first time
{will admit it was a rocky start but once I relaxed and smiled then we really started to have fun :)}
"Do me a favor... Stand up, walk to wherever the nearest window is, and just look outside. You may not know this, but there's an entire planets-worth of summers, friends, sunsets, street lamps, songs, late nights, great films, and night skies waiting for you. Your life is as amazing as you want it to be, but first, you have to let it be that way."
The girls had fun the other day coloring in pages from Nurie Ciaofor decorations today. {be warned the site is in Japanese} They really liked all the bunny pagessince this year is the same year as my Chinese Zodiac~ Rabbit.
I am a stay at home mom looking to make the most of this adventure by trying my hand at photography, crafts, cooking, and teaching Japanese to the girls. Most importantly to make wonderful memories and bring back traditions with my three amazing daughters.
